Good morning, good morning! My sweet Nikki is having some laptop trouble this week and her computer has been sent away from repair, so it's only me today... But I thought that it would be a good week to share some personal news about your admin team because we do have some real-life updates that may be affecting the site in the coming weeks.
First, I want to thank you guys for the continued patience as I wrap up my final year as a student. I am finishing school on April 21st, and I will be returning to work the following Monday! This is quite exciting, because my nights and weekends will be truly free, and I genuinely miss working on new Idolise features.
I worried that Idolise would die while I was getting my education because updates are so important for community growth... But honestly, you guys have kept the site going. We've retained so many members over these past 18 months, and Nikki and I are very eager to give back to all of you with new ideas we've been tossing around for a while. We have some really great ideas.
I am also happy to announce that Nikki and I will be moving in together! The apartment is all ours on May 1st. This is huge for us as best pals, but I also think that it's big for Idolise. We genuinely enjoy working on the site when we're together, but COVID and school have both majorly affected that!
Admittedly, with starting a new job and moving, there will be some delays in April and May... But this is going to be a really fun summer for Idolise. I just know it! We're so excited.
(Hopefully when you saw this unusual wall of text, you didn't assume the worst... These are all very good things, and we are excited to continue being a reliable admin team!!!)

Actual Update Freebies
How rare! Update freebies? We can't remember the last time we did something like this... But!
To celebrate Brave Girls Rollin' making it to the top of the charts, four years after its release, we everyone to take choice cards spelling out ROLLIN. Use them however you'd like, on any decks that were released BEFORE today.
Regarding April Decks
Due to some recent news involving a number of April members, we have decided to pause quite a few era decks and make their worth zero for the time being. For you, as members, this simply means that those decks will no longer appear in the randomizer. They can still be mastered if you'd like, but new cards won't be generated from the site... With the exception of some 2015 decks, which may appear in 2015 randomizers. I will fix this ASAP, it has been a while since I have dug into any of the site code.
Obviously, with idol controversy, we do what we can to keep up with circulating rumors and make decisions based on that. With that being said, however, we are not perfect and we can't know everything that is going on. We welcome the members to reach out to us on Discord if they feel that we have missed something that we don't seem to be taking approriate action for. Thank you!

We're discontinuing the forum games! This does not include freebies... Is freebies even a game?
We may make up for these cards through regular games in the future, but I don't think very many of you are going to miss them! Forum games are a little bit outdated, and they're high effort in terms of participation... We have seen interaction go down quite a bit, so for now, we've decided to lock them in a folder and take a break from it.

Hello, hello! Welcome back to Idolise for your usual Sunday update! It's lovely to see you all, and we hope that you had a great week.
It's the last day of the month, and Nikki and I just realized that... We did not do the Be Mine event this year. We hadn't even thought about it, which is kind of funny to both of us. It's one of our favorite events, but it completely passed us by this year! We've talked about it today, and it's an event that we think you guys really enjoy as members! So we're going to pick it up once my graduation date is a little closer so that it's something we can put a little more focus into. Please wait a little bit longer!
Other than that... We do have an important announcement today.
TW: Sexual Assault
As some of you likely remember, back in October, we set BAP Himchan's decks to 0 to remove them from the randomizer, but allowed members to continue collecting his decks and mastering them if they wanted to. When it comes to idols and crimes that hurt others, we feel that it shouldn't be taken lightly, but we allowed his decks to exist on the site while his court case continued to unfold. But this week, Himchan was sentenced to 10 months in prison for sexual assault. :) So. See ya!
In situations like these, we want to encourage our members to swap out any custom content they may have that features him. Should they want to. These fixes will come at no cost, just let the badge maker know that you're having them switched out!
And, of course, switch those discontinued cards out here.

This week, my best friend has updated the Set 2 games! You can also play the Weekly Set as well.
Regarding the majority of forum games... We are actually putting them on hiatus for the rest of February. Truthfully, we are deciding if they're worth continuing. As far as the number of cards that you guys receive through regular games, and the number of coupons that everyone has... We're just not sure if it's needed to continue running Idolise. We'll keep you posted on this as we talk to Amy and get some feedback!

Hello and welcome to February! We hope that everyone had a wonderful week and that you are all staying safe out there with everything going on around the world.
Like most monthly updates, this one will probably have a little extra length to cover all of our bases... Although there isn't a whole lot going on in terms of news and new features, we do have a few things we'd like to chat about... And of course! Your rewards for the mastery event are finally here. We didn't forget! Actually, we were way more generous this year.
We're in the home stretch in terms of... Caitlin-getting-her-education... So just wait a little bit longer! Nikki and I have so many exciting ideas for the second half of the year, and we can't wait to breathe some extra life into Idolise with some new features for you guys! Just hold on!

Coupons...
While trying to determine the rewards to give you all for the recent winter mastery event, we took inventory of the choice card coupon economy and... Wow, we've made a lot of mistakes as admins.
To avoid overwhelming and scaring all of you, I have decided that coupons will include an expiry date. But not right now! As most of you will probably remember from the 12 Days of Christmas, I had mentioned that I am working on Idolise 4.0, which will be coded entirely from scratch, by yours truly, and include a lot of features that are just impossible with the current MyTCG infrastructure that we're working within the meantime.
What I am trying to say is... Let's do our best to use as many of our coupons as we can between now and August because after I graduate and return to working on the new and improved Idolise, rules will start changing to fix the choice card economy a little.
Winter Event Rewards

There are a number of you who mastered less than five, and I acknowledge that some people may have participated without even meaning to... So if you aren't sure if you participated or not, please click on the link either way and take a look. If you handed in zero masteries, don't worry! It won't reward you. It's set up so that it will tell you how many decks you handed in, and then give you rewards based on that.

Winter Event
The winter event has come to a close, and wow! 1600 masteries were handed in during the event, which is... Honestly, just bonkers. 501 of those were Yasu, by the way.
We know that you must be excited to receive your rewards, but we're going to make you wait just a little bit longer. We'll be giving you guys your rewards next week, which is just going to give us a little bit of extra time to figure out what we should give everyone. Like our last winter event, we'll do it based on how many masteries you handed in! We're just discussing how many cards to give.

Deadlines
Holy crap. January is almost over already! Next Sunday is the 31st, which is your final day to get in your January-related things... Dream deck masteries, donations... Monthly games... What else? You guys know better than me! I've noticed a few of our January babies have not requested their birthday badge yet, so try your best to remember to get that ASAP before you run out of time, okay? Either way, I'll give you your final reminder next Sunday, and watch while you all panic to get things in last second... :)
