Hello, hello! Welcome back to Idolise for your usual Sunday update. Nikki and I are parked at our favorite Starbucks coffee, we have our overpriced coffee, and we don't have anything too important to mention this week. It's going to be a short and sweet one.
Deck Votes
As a lot of you are already aware, our deck releases are entirely based off of your votes. When we are finalizing our list on Sunday, the only adjustments we make are evening out the boy/girl ratio, and making sure that there are no duplicated artists on the list. Otherwise, the list is entirely based off of your votes.
We understand that it may seem difficult, given the amount of decks, to imagine that the one you're voting for will actually be released... But at this point in time, if you vote for a deck as your top deck for a few weeks, it will come out. We promise.
Also, at this time, I want to mention that I am making a lot of decks this month to ready our stockpile for what is going to be a busy semester at school for me. I know that it's a lot to take in, and having that many decks to vote for is scary, but there's no rush. The decks are not going anywhere!

Hello, cuties! Welcome back to Idolise! Your cutie admin team are back at their usual Starbucks spot. Our seats freed up just in time, and as I write this first sentence, we have been in for an hour... and have gotten nothing done. So if you're wondering why this update is coming at you a bit later than usual, it's due to both of us being incredibly distracted for no reason.
Today will be acting as both our weekly update and our monthly update. I am going to try and keep it short and sweet, due to how late we're getting it out to you guys, but there will be some important information that's worth looking over!

Winter Event is Over
Alright, alright! Our little winter event has wrapped up, and to stay in the spirit of keeping things nice and simple, we are handing out additional rewards with a tier system that takes care of everything for you guys. You have to be logged in to get these rewards, and they can be found here! Rewards can only be taken once, and refreshing will just show you the same rewards again. The usual.
Thank for you participating in this simple event. We hope that everyone enjoyed sending Boo the additional trades, and got a lot of cards they needed. Boo actually received almost 500 trades during the month of January, and we'll definitely be using him for more events in the future.

It's February, and you all know what that means. It's time for Caitlin's favorite event, with some minor changes from last year. For the most part, we're using the same information page as before. If you're familiar with the event from last year, not much has changed. The only main difference is that we are limiting users to 5 masteries this year.

Hello, hello! Welcome back to Idolise, my sweeties. Your admins are finally back together at our usual Starbucks for today's update. It's raining outside, but at least we aren't experiencing another chaotic snow storm.
As far as updates go, this one is going to be pretty short. There aren't too many things to mention, but there have been a few small tweaks to the website that I would like to bring your attention to!
Winter event
Our mini winter event is ending soon, guys! This event will run until Saturday, at 11:59:59 PM. Around midnight, I will be removing the additional rewards and setting them back to normal so that those decks no longer filter out to the additional table that tracks the rewards.
We currently have 294 masteries for this event, which is awesome! Thank you to everyone who has been participating and getting those additional rewards.
Deadlines
As you guys know, this month is coming to an end. Make sure that you get in your dream deck masteries. Any outstanding birthday badges. Also, make sure that you play monthly games or you will miss out! Don't forget about those donations, too.
Minor little updates
- Login bonus coupons can be used again! When you log into the main site, you'll notice a link under your daily login rewards. This link will redirect you to a new page that allows you to enter a day you have missed. It will give you any rewards you missed, including additional coupons that you may have lost out on during that week!
- If you have mastered any decks for our winter event, you will now be able to see that inside of your member panel as well. For those of you who were tracking this manually, I'm sorry about that! I completely forgot that I planned on adding this to your panels, and as always, was a little bit slow on it.
- Nikki was very kind to update our info pages, as I was slacking on giving those bottom buttons any sort of content. She has saved my life, and I'm thankful for her. A lot of you reported these empty pages as errors, but it was just Caitlin's laziness. Thanks for the patience.
- Also, Nikki has updated the lightsticks. She has been splashing around in Photoshop a lot and she added a white border to the edges after much deliberation! If you'd like to update these on your end, please feel free.
- EDIT: Something that I forgot to mention last week, but on January 17th I was informed that quite a number of reward types weren't writing to logs for users who have uppercase letters in their name. I've fixed this error multiple times in different places, but I had missed the most important things... Like masteries and stuff. I fixed this on the 17th and so, if you have noticed a "gap" in mastery rewards inside of your logs, this is the reason why. It was trying to write to a table that is basically _Uppercase name, which doesn't exist. All table names are lowercase. But since then, this has been fixed. This has absolutely nothing to do with event mastery counts, so it hasn't effected anything on that side of things. This was strictly an issue were rewards weren't writing to your internal logs.

It's Sunday, and your admins are home from their quick trip to Newark. Although we were only gone for a couple of days, I came back to a lot of messages (that I won't be directly replying to) about the same issues, so please ensure that you're reading this update carefully if you are someone who messaged me directly while I was gone, or if you are someone who posted in the questions and answers channel.
Login bonus chaos
Last Sunday, we introduced the automatic login bonus. It had some issues. Originally, the bonus wasn't logging to the internal system if your name started with a capital letter. This may have caused some of the early birds issues, as the system counts your logs to display coupons. A lot of members will remember that on your first login, you were accidentally given a coupon as well. This is due to the system not knowing what to do when someone technically had 0 login bonuses logged. So there were some issues!
Long story short, this may have caused some of you to miss out on your Saturday bonus, if you had technically logged in every day from Sunday-Saturday. To fix this and ensure that your count is accurate, I have a forum post where I will be adjusting your logs manually over here.
Daily Login /coupon/
This week, I received multiple questions about the missed login bonus coupon. As a lot of you already know, this coupon can be used when a day is missed, and it comes in handy in ensuring that members who skip a day can still earn their Saturday bonus.
With the new login bonus system, there is currently no way to use this coupon. This was an oversight on my part, which I do apologize for. These things happen when you're making large scale changes, and I frequently forget about all the nooks and crannies of Idolise, despite being the one who creates them. I'm doing my best. I'm just incredibly clumsy.
There are two ways that we can go about doing this, and I really value your opinions. At the end of the day, I'm not the one who's using them.

Fair warning! This is a big one. As all of you are already aware, your admins are making major changes to the site. There are some obvious changes (like the new index page, your member panel) that don't require any extra effort on your part, but we have also made some changes to larger components of the site, such as currency.

Currency changes
THIS IS IMPORTANT.
Coins were a mistake. They're hard to track and difficult to count. The idea of spending them and how to spend them is stressful, and we understand that. We've made the decision to do away with coins and split our currency into two types.
- Gold: For shop purchases that are not custom content.
- Gems: For custom content.
100 coins = 1 gold, or 1 gem.
The expectation for each member is that you will officially have the opportunity to decide how to split your coins. You must convert your coins before you make any new purchases in 2020. If you currently have 1000 coins, you can split them however you'd like. You can do 5 gold, 5 gems. Or 1 gold, 9 gems. It's up to you.
PLEASE LOG YOUR CONVERSION. We need to see it in your logs.
This will allow us to provide more gold to you guys through games, without the worry of our poor custom content makers being bogged down by badge requests.
Important note about custom badges: Custom mastery badges were 100 coins in the past, they are now 3 gems. We understand that this conversion is a little more expensive, but anyone who currently has pending requests can rest easy knowing that we will honor the original conversion.
To display currency on your post, I've created a little mod over on my Notion page! This mod is inspired by Amber's mod for Starlight, which displays currency from a category! This will help you guys track your currency easier. No math needed.
2015 decks retiring
We have your final list here! We chose not to retire anything this week, but it will start next week. ^^
Just a reminder, from your deck requests, I did not make any eras for artists who already had decks expiring. For those who are losing eras, I will be putting focus into replacing them with newer eras. :)

Hello, hello! Can you guys believe that it's our final update of 2019? This will not be our monthly update, as we are saving that for next Sunday (and it's going to be a big one...), but we will have a few announcements to cover leading up to that.
But first, some event cards that we owe you guys.

December deadlines
Even though we aren't doing the monthly update until next Sunday, the month is almost over. That means that your donations are due. You only have a few more days to hand in your mini masteries. If you haven't played the monthly games, you really need to.
Very important note about rewards in 2020
Nikki and I are currently working on the implementation of a logging system. It is going very well. But with this logging system, comes an important warning from your admin team:
If you are the type who waits until Sunday to play games, it's time to fix your habit. You must play games before Saturday ends, according to the site clock. With the logging system, it will automatically recognize that Sunday is a brand new week, and it will not allow you to play games twice. When the log system is implemented in full, the ability to refresh rewards will be removed. If rewards are refreshed, the system will recognize that you have already played games for the current week and show you the same reward line that you've already seen.
This also goes for monthly games... If you plan on playing monthly games last minute, or even on January 1st, you will be screwing yourself over... Those will be your rewards for January, and you won't be able to play those games when they're refreshed in February. Please don't do this to yourself.

Hello, hello! Welcome back to Idolise for another Sunday update. Your admins are back together this week, chilling in my bedroom to whip this update together for everyone!
This is going to be a fairly quick one. Your admins have been incredibly busy, and we do apologize for the lack of Christmas event... But we promise we're going to have a lot of fun together this winter. :)
I promise that I will have a cute December event card and something for Christmas before you guys know it! Your admin team are just, again, a couple of busy bees these days. ^^

Hello, hello! It's finally Sunday. I've been really looking forward to this update (and the next few, probably), since I am finished with school for Christmas break and have lots of free time to think about the site and work on it GUILT FREE. It feels great.
Your admin team are not at their usual Starbucks today, but instead, updating from the comfort of our own homes! My family is doing Christmas dinner today, but we still have a lot of ground to cover and didn't want to postpone it until next week. (Don't get scared! We aren't announcing that we're retiring the 2016 decks, too.)
winter event things
For those of you who are a member of our Discord, you may notice a new channel called "winter event discussion". Your admins have been doing this for a long time, and your input is very important to us! We're looking to do some sort of winter event (less Christmas, as it's a busy time for most members) and we love if you came and took a school through, and provided any of your own input!

I updated the forum this week. I'm not entirely sure what was causing it, or if updating has even resolved it! If you do see the error again, please hop into the error reporting forum just to make a note of it for us. If even one person gets it again, that's enough to let me know that it's still out there...

major changes to deck vote
And your admin team are very excited.
This important is quite important, so I'm going to do it in bullet form just to try and make it easier to follow.
- You can no longer vote for the same deck more than once.
- Rather than each vote being worth +1 towards the overall deck vote, each vote is weighted differently. The first deck you vote for is worth +6 towards the deck, and the sixth deck you vote for is worth +1 towards the deck.
- You are still free to vote for 1-6 decks. You do not have to use all of your votes.
- However, if you don't use all of your deck votes, you can not come back and vote again until the next week.
- For each deck you vote for, that is worth 1 random card as reward. Vote for six decks to get maximum rewards in randomizer.
- For the deck that you give your top vote spot to, you'll receive a "coupon" for that deck. You'll be able to use these when the deck is released!
- Your votes will populate a vote history table that is available to you at any time. It will show which decks you've voted for on which days, and which choice card "coupon" you received. As well, it will show you which decks have been released from the decks you've voted for!!! WOW DATA!
Some of these changes may be further adjusted in the future, but we want to try something new with you guys. We think that this has a lot of potential to be fun and actually encourage more people to vote. :)

Idolise updated from PHP 5.2 to 7.2
Throughout this week, you may have noticed certain pages were down while I worked on updating us from an outdated version of PHP. We forced the update before our host side did it for us, and I think that everything went fairly well in switching us over.
We have a lot of randomizers from past update that I don't think we particularly need to update... But I do encourage members to either a) Message me directly about a page that doesn't appear to be loading, or b) Put it in error reporting forum. This will help me figure out which pages are still needed and used.
I think that all of the main site components are functioning... TT But again. Let me know if I missed something. I don't think anyone but Nikki truly understands the GARBAGE HEAP that is Idolise's file system.
Forum PHP errors?
So... We've had some reports of forum errors all the sudden, but I don't know if it's something that I can fix. It seems to only happen once in a while. If you recieve this error, your post should still appear... Just ignore it. I'm researching it.

If your forum rewards from last week were affected by the downtime, feel free to take them for last week this week... Only if you didn't get them because the randomizer was broken!
The discontinuation of 2015 decks
As promised, Nikki has been hard at work getting the 2015 decks organized into a list. This list includes a tentative schedule, which we hope will ease the stress of feeling like you need to master these decks before January 1st or something. You can view that list here. Take note of the tabs at the bottom, which includes that tentative schedule.
There may be some errors. If you catch these, please either let Nikki know directly, or post it on the forum. We will likely miss it if you just say it in the Discord!
If we do make and release any new 2015 eras due to requests, they'll be retired at the end of the schedule!
